My Makeup Wish List

So I have been online shopping this morning and my god there are so many products I need to get my hands on! I love makeup and when I buy a new makeup product it becomes like a little part of me. It may sound strange but I have talked to other makeup obsessed gals like myself and most would agree that they are heavily attached to their collection of lipsticks or palettes. An example of my strong and kind of obsessive attachment to my makeup is when on the weekend i thought i had lost my fave Mirenesse nude lipgloss. I searched the car, my bag and then proceeded to tell my husband of how upset I was about losing this lipgloss. His response was comforting but after 3 years of marraige he is very accustomed to my weird and eccentric ways. I rang one of my girlfriends and told her how I was upset about this lipgloss and then I look down on my makeup table and it's right in front of me. Ok, some would say I need to get a life lol! But makeup is my life so when my little gorgeous bits go missing I tend to over react hehehe. When I buy a new product I also over react with glee. By the way I also love makeup brushes and have a thing for cute little Kabuki brushes. The smaller and cuter they are the better.
The first product on my wish list is Lime Crime's Coquette lipstick. Hope I have spelled that right? It's a nice nude pink lipstick and I am obsessed with nude lip colours at the moment. I use them all the time when I am doing makeup for clients as they tend to suit most skin types and look fantastic with a smokey eye. I also need to buy Lime Crime's Retrofuturist which is true red opaque lip colour that is really suited to the pin up makeup look.

Ahhh, the ever illusive Wet n Wild Gilded Age Trio Eye Palette. I don't know if I will ever be able to find one but it's on my list. Fingers crossed I will locate this gorgeous palette online some day. It's got great pigment and is long lasting and it's also those beautiful summery neutral and goldy tones I love right now. There has been alot of positive reviews on the internet for this palette. But it's so hard to find.

I follow a youtuber called 'burymeinvelvet'. She does amazing makeup work and is really fun to watch. She recently did a review of this mascara and she was really happy with it. I trust her opinion as she is has about 60 or so mascara's and is, like me, always searching for a mascara that doesn't leave crappy bits on your fingers if you touch your lashes and doesn't smear have way down your cheeks when you take your makeup off. I am definitely buying this mascara to give it a try and Australis is one of my fave brands of all time.

The NYX Round Lipstick in Circle 522 is apparently a dupe for MAC's Viva La Glam 2 lipstick. The MAC lipstick is limited edition so it can be hard to find in store and a little pricey online from places like ebay. But if you buy the Viva La Glam from MAC the proceeds of the lipstick do go to charity so it is a really good cause. But back to this NYX lippy, I really want to try this lipstick and it suits light and dark toned skin. Plus I love NYX.

I am in love with the e.l.f. blush. It is a great price and is long lasting. I really want to try the Fuschia Fushion as it is said to be a dupe for the NARS Angelika blush. I am always really pleased with e.l.f. products.

The last product I will put on my wish list for the week is the Sleek Makeup Contour Kit. It only costs around $15 and comes in light, medium and dark. It makes highlighting and contouring a breeze as it has 2 powders in the one handy little kit. I really love Sleek Makeup as they cater for every type of skin colour.

I think that does it for this week. I am going to try to buy a few things from my wish list over the week so I cross them off and try them all. Plus then I can enjoy making a new wish list. I have put some links on the bottom of my post so you can check out some of my fave sites that have some of the above products listed.
Till next time, stay gorgeous xoxox Mwah!

Thrift Store Shopping Fun!

Yesterday my gorgeous friend and I ventured out to the local thrift stores or as they are called in Australia, Op shops. I had planned on only spending a small amount of money as recently I have purchased new makeup products for my makeup kit and spoiled myself with lavish gifties so I was geared up ready to look and not really buy. Well I could not have been more wrong. I found so many amazing bargains and picked up some great summer clothing items all for around $30. Oh, and as you will see in the photos I also bought some random cute things just for fun. I bought a fake Gucci over night bag for $2 and put all of my purchases in that. Lets have a peek...

I got this cute off the shoulder Valleygirl top for $4. Stripes are in this summer and this will be really comfy with shorts or distressed jeans. I have a thing for off the shoulder tops at the moment so i was really happy to find this one. I found 4 pretty summer tops which cost me only $10. Cami tops are really comfortable when its hot in summer and they look great with jeans as well.

I am so in love with this little lace wrap. It was $4 but had been placed in the kids section. I thought I would have a look at it because the material was so beautiful then I found out it was a ladies size. Happy was I. The material is a Leopard print lace with glitter all over it. I know it sounds hookerville but trust me it's really pretty in real life.

I was really surprised to find a top from Mei Mei. I always love Mei Mei clothing and you can usually buy it online. This little royal blue Mei Mei top cost $2. It didn't have a tag and I thought the shop assistant was going to say it was around $5 but I was in luck because when I go thrift shopping I can be a bit of a tight botty and you can usually hear me saying "$10, nah I'm not prepared to pay that".

I found this cute little baby doll top by Bebe for $5. I figure I will wear it with a brown plait belt. Very sweet and girly. And I also found a Napoleon Perdis makeup bag which was brand new for $5. It's also leopard print so my excitement level was double hehehe.

My gorgeous friend found this zebra stripey print off the shoulder top and bought it for me. She is so awesome. Love her xoxo

I have a thing for The Muppets and mainly love Miss Piggy so when I stumbled across this vintage Miss Piggy (1980, is that very vintage?) I had to take her home. She was 50cents. I think she is kind of naked but maybe she is wearing her workout leotard? My Chihuahua wants to grab her and rip her apart but that won't be happening.
So my thrift store shopping trip cost me a whopping $32.50 (I had to use a calculator). Not bad for all of those items which look brand new. I love bargain shopping and i am a real rummage for treasure gal. I like my high end items as well but I get a real thrill from finding things i want and need at a reasonable price.

Just thought i would throw a random pic of the cute Barbies my friend also bought for me. I collect Barbies and no I don't keep them in the boxes. I like to play with their hair. I also love Hello Kitty and My Little Pony.
Till next time, stay gorgeous and have fun xoxoxo Mwah

Fave Products Right Now!

Hi friends welcome to my first ever product review. There are quite a few products that i am loving at the moment so i thought i would share some of my thoughts about them.

Garnier Skin Naturals Anti-Dark Circles Roll-On

First up is my absolute fave product, Garnier Skin Naturals Anti-Dark Circles Roll-On.  I had seen alot of really positive reviews on Youtube for this product so i thought i would find out for myself. I was a little dubious at first as in the past i had tried similar products and had been very disappointed that my dark baggy circles could still be seen, but not with using this product, it is awesome! I first applied the Garnier roll on without any foundation on and the effects were amazing. When you first apply it you can feel a nice cooling tingle under your eyes and after a few minutes i swear to you my puffy bags had gone down and they were not as dark. I have suffered with very dark under eye circles and puffiness since my early twenties and have tried and tested so many failed products. This product has been the only one i have ever tried that has really worked. I use it before i apply foundation then i put a little concealer on as well and it is like my dark circles never exsited! It is a handy compact size so you can keep it in your handbag for touch ups during the day if you need it. It has a tinted concealer and sunscreen built in and it gives such great coverage. The roll on is enriched with caffeine and lemon essence and really is long lasting. If you suffer with tired eyes like i do, i would recommend giving this product a go. It costs around $18 in stores like Coles and Woolworths but it is so worth it. I bought the fair to medium skin tone roll on but it also comes in medium to dark.

Lacura Gentle Exfoliating Face Wash

Lacura is Aldi's award winning brand of cosmetics and beauty products. I shop at Aldi quite a bit and had always been interested in trying their beauty range. This face wash retails at around $4 and is very similar to Garnier's Pore Deep Scrub Gel not only in packaging but also in the positive effects it has on the skin. The Lacura face wash is more suited to an oily or combination skin as it helps dry out blemishes and controls shine. The fine granules make it gentle enough to use every day if you choose to and does a great job at unclogging pores and minimising them. It is soap free so you won't get that tight plasticy feel to your face after using it and containsVitamin E and Provitamin B5. I use this face wash every night and have been very pleased with the smoothing effect it has on my skin. It feels soft and clean after using this product. A great buy at $4 and i think its just as good if not better than the higher end face washes.

Nivea Sun, Light Feel Every Day Sun Lotion Spf 30+

I originally bought this moisturiser as Coles was all out of my usual moisturiser. I am now so grateful they were because this is much better then the old one i used to use. The Nivea skin cream is great. It has a light non greasy consistency and doesn't leave my face with a greasy sticky feeling after using it. It is also Spf 30+ and gives broad spectrum protection. The formula is ultra light weight and absorbs into the skin very quickly. I love this moisturiser. After i wash and dry my face i use a toner and then this moisturiser during the day. Technically you are supposed to reapply sunscreen moisturisers every 3 hours to avoid sun damage. This moisturiser is light enough to do that even when you are wearing makeup. I have found that i can reapply the Nivea Sun without ruining my makeup. I just put a few little dots of the Nivea on my face on top of my makeup and carefully rub it into the skin. The Nivea Sun Spf 30+ retails at around $10 and is my fave daily moisturiser.

Garnier Body, Moisturising Lotion Sun-Kissed Look

I love this body lotion! I use this as a tan extender and as a body lotion just to get a natural healthy glow. It gradually builds a light tan and has intense hydration for dry skin. The lotion has a yummy apricot scent that reminds me of the Strawberry Shortcake Dolls. It has a small amount of tanning ingredient which is safe to use every day and will give you a natural looking tan after a few days. The only down side of this product is it leaves a sticky feeling on my chest and neck until i wash it off. It doesn't get sticky on the legs or arms though. But i find that its the same no matter what brand of tan extender i use so i think its a normal occurance with these types of lotions but feel free to leave a comment below if you know of some lotions that aren't sticky after application. It doesn't give you any sun protection so i generally use it at night time which gives it a few hours to develop on my skin. I bought the fair to medium skin lotion but it also comes in medium to dark. Be sure to buy the right colour for you otherwise you can end up looking like one of Willy Wonka's Oompa loompa's! As with all tan lotions be sure to wash your hands straight after applying it to avoid staining. I have to also mention that i have found that this lotion hasn't been leaving marks or stains on my clothes which is a huge plus for me. Other brands i have used have left stains so the Garnier Body Sun-Kissed gets my thumbs up.

Just a quick shout out to this yummy hand and body lotion called Jungle Orange Spice. I bought it from Priceline for $2 and only picked it up because of the leopard and hot pink print packaging, its so gorgeous! The lotion is light weight, non greasy and has a delicious orange lolly smell. Very nice. I really only purchased it to display it in my leopard and hot pink girlie haven but i am going to also use it as a body moisturiser.

 Revlon Age Defying Cream Makeup

Next up is my new favourite foundation by Revlon. I had watched alot of reviews on this foundation on Youtube so i thought that being a Revlon fan myself that it was worth trying it out. I have nothing but positive praises for this foundation. I bought the Medium Beige 25 and it is a perfect match for my skin tone. I usually need to mix 2 colours of the Photo Ready and Color Stay together to get the perfect shade but the medium beige is an exact match. Its called a cream makeup on the bottle but it is still more of a liquid foundation its just that the texture is a little thicker than say Revlons Color Stay. This foundation has a handy pump application and leaves my skin with a luminous dewy look without that wet feeling. My skin looks softer and velvety and it has great coverage. It was much harder to notice my chicken pox scars with this foundation. When i apply this foundation i put a few dots of it all over my face and then blend it in using a Stippling brush or a Foundation brush. The Revlon website describes this foundation as a 'Moisturising cream makeup formula with Vitamin B3, Vitamin E, West Indian Cherry Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate and a Ceramide complex' which helps skin to stay hydrated while discoloration and imperfections are concealed. This definitely conceals imperfections. It is Spf 20 so if you are getting photos taken, i would suggest that you use a mineral foundation powder on top of this foundation that is a one or two shades darker than your foundation colour just so that the block out doesn't leave your face looking ghostly or washed out with the flash photography. I'm going to be doing a Makeup for Photography post shortly which will explain foundation and lighting. This foundation doesn't show wrinkles as it keeps the skin hydrated and it won't settle in the tiny creases of your mouth and nose area. I am wearing this foundation in all of my new photos on this post. I cannot praise it enough. I shopped around to get the best price as it does vary from store to store. Big W was the cheapest at just $35 for the Age Defying while Myer was the dearest at around $42.

Next up is my new eyeshadow and bronzers that i bought. I am very into neutral tones at the moment thats why the palettes are all natural and gold looking.

Priceline was having a big sale on their Savvy range and i am always happy with the Savvy brand. Their products are long lasting and vibrant. From a conversation i had with the manager of the Priceline store at Charlestown, apparently Savvy is a brand only available at Priceline and its usually on sale, which is good news for a makeup addict like myself. I bought the Savvy 4 colour eyeshadow palette in Dusk and it is gorgeous. The colours are highly pigmented and long lasting. There is a champagne colour great for brow highlight and a medium brown tone which looks lovely on the crease. I will be buying more of the Savvy palettes shortly as i love them! Next up was the BYS brand 5 colour eyeshadow palette in Natural Delight. I'm pretty sure that it is a dupe for Revlon's - Colorstay 12-Hour Eyeshadow Quad "Blushed Wines". I do like this BYS palette but i can't say i love it. The colours are pigmented and do last a long time if you use an eye shadow primer with it but the texture of the eyeshadows are a little crumbly as you pick it up on a brush and if your not careful when you apply the darker colours you can end up with alot of fallout on your checks. The BYS palette has great neutral toned colours but i'm not all that fussed on the consistency. I do own alot of BYS products though and i am using this palette but putting a business card underneath the eye to catch the fallout!

To another BYS product but this one i love to bits! Its the BYS Bronzing Powder. This product is lush! I love smell which is a soft flower almost lavender scent and i love the colour on my skin. It gives my skin a radiant gold shimmer and i can use this all over my face and neck if i want to. I adore this product and i think it retails at Kmart for around $6.
My fave palette at the moment is L.A. Girl's 10 Color.eye palette in Harmony. Once again neutral tones and gold shimmers. These shadows are highly pigmented and last all day. I got this one from a discount store for around $6.
I really love the Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear line of nail polishes. They are my favourite right now. All of the colours are bright and shiny. I bought a new one in 'Blew me Away' and its a gorgeous bright blue colour. I also love Rimmels Lasting Finish nail polish at the moment and i had to buy a green colour for Spring. Its called 'Green Grass'. The Xtreme Wear costs around $7 and Rimmels is $5 from Kmart. Great products for girls who are nail savvy.

Well i thought you were wondering if this product review would ever end! Yeah sorry if it was too long but i had been saving up so many products this week to show you. Next time i will just do a few at once so you don't fall asleep on me lol! I will leave you with this pic of me and my all time fave lipgloss in the world, the Mirenesse 3D Forever Gloss in LA Nude. Price $40, consistency- non sticky (if thats even a word), yummy and glossy!

Bye my lovelys and stay gorgeous till next time xoxoxo Mwah!

Spoil Me Sunday

So i know Sunday was Fathers Day and Happy Fathers Day to all the gorgeous dads out there but it was also "Spoil Me Sunday" which is just about enjoying being girlie and taking advantage of all the great sales out there in shopland at the moment. For all my new friends who are just getting to know me, one thing you have probably picked up on already is that i am a huge huge bargain shopper. I don't know if it's my ethnic upbringing but i just love finding that elusive sale item and then bragging about it later at family dinners! When i find a great bargain be it clothing, shoes, bags, makeup what have you, the rush i feel is enormous (hello, addictville) and i am not afraid to rummage for buried bargain treasures um, usually embarrassing myself in the process cause i look like some crazy cat lady with dilated pupils, hands and arms flying everywhere, rambling to myself and scaring fellow shoppers away in the process. So I have a few great buys i have to share with you, feel free to grab a coffee (or tea for the tea drinkers) and lets get our groove on! (sorry for that comment, i can be such a dork sometimes hehehe).

So the first stop for me on sunday was just a local market where i snapped up a cutesy leopard print dress and skirt for spring/summer. So cutes and both items all up only cost me $5!!! Big spender. But i really loved the material of both items. Very silky and soft and definitely light and airy as the summers here can be brutal. Don't be fooled by the dodgy pic of the skirt it actually looks really nice in real life. I am a major leopard print fan, i would decorate my entire house just in leopard print and hot pink if the hubster would let me! But the key to leopard print is to accessorise well and don't over do the print otherwise the outfit can come off looking, well kind of trashy and not in a good way, but i don't think trashy is ever a good thing really unless your a stripper. :D
I am going to pair the dress with cute nude heals and the skirt with some new season wedges and a white or black tank and a brown plait belt. Cutes!

Some other gorgeous items i snagged were from Trade Secret. They are having a huge sale on clothes and jewellery right now. I got 2 pairs of gold and pink earrings for $2 each and a pretty blue jewelled butterfly ring for $5.95. (I am going to get a better camera soon so in future posts my pics will be better and show how cute these items are.) I also found a gold necklace as i am loving the gold look right now. In the belt section i snapped up a bargain. This brown elastic belt was on sale for $2 from $9.95! Yey! I have been looking for a belt like this for ages.

And lastly from Trade Secret i had to buy this adorable shimmery glomesh bag. I bought it to put my extra makeup brushes in. You can't really tell from the pic but the glomesh material looks like a mermaids tail. It is pearl white coloured with flecks of pink, purple, green, just gorgeous. Needless to say i will be taking it to my makeup jobs with me.

Recently i have started collecting Japanese dolls. I think they are called Kokeshi dolls? But they are cute Japanese round dollies. I have an obsession for oriental gorgeous things. I found a new pink doll for my collection at a local discount store and also picked up a new tiny makeup mirror compact for my handbag. And it also has cupcakes all over it, which you guessed it is another obsession of mine. I think cupcakes are the cutest and my oversized bedonky butt can vouch for that! But all up these 2 items cost $7.

I have finally come to my last items that i bought on Sunday. Myself and the husband were doing some groceries at Woolworths and my first stop at Woolies is always the makeup department, even as small and sad as it maybe at our local wollies, but anyway what do i find this week? They are now stocking the NYC Color nail polishes. I love this brand of polish as for my sensitive nose it doesn't have that sickly formaldihide (sorry bout the spelling) chemically stench that some cheap polishes have and it is only $2! They also have a huge range of colours and they last on your nails for more than a day. i have been wearing one of the new NYC colours i bought and it hasn't chipped yet and i painted my nails on Sunday afternoon. Usually the cheap brands chip on me after a day of wear and tear. But NYC is pretty good if your after some extra colours for your nail kit at a nice price. The 2 colours i bought are Pretty Pink which is a girlie Barbie pink and Lolly Pop which is a shimmery light purple with flecks of glitter. So cute. Sorry again that my camera is crap but i will upgrade soon.
Thanks for spending some time with me today while i rambled on about my bargains. I love shopping and i love talking about shopping! Feel free to leave comments below on any great bargains you have got recently or if you know of any awesome sales that are happening right now for Spring. Love you guys and can't wait to chat to you again in my next blog. Till then, Stay Gorgeous!! Mwah xoxoxo
